A1.
Wood pellets in quality class A1 meet the highest standards for calorific value, low moisture content, and low ash content. These wood pellets are typically made from pure wood without additives or binders. They have a high calorific value and produce minimal ash and smoke during combustion. A1 wood pellets are suitable for use in both private and commercial heating systems
A2.
Wood pellets in quality class A2 are of slightly lower quality than A1 wood pellets. They may contain slightly higher moisture and ash content compared to A1 wood pellets. A2 wood pellets can still be used as fuel, but they may have a slightly lower calorific value and produce slightly more ash and smoke during combustion. There is also EnPlus A2 which meets stricter quality requirements and is very suitable for use as fuel in pellet stoves and boilers.
DINplus is a certification standard for wood pellets developed by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), which is the German Institute for Standardization. The purpose of DINplus certification is to ensure that wood pellets meet certain quality standards and specifications, particularly in terms of their suitability for use as fuel in heating systems.
To achieve DINplus certification, wood pellet manufacturers must meet strict criteria set by DIN. These criteria cover various aspects of pellet quality

EnPlus A1 and DINplus are both certification standards for wood pellets, indicating high quality and reliability. Here are the differences between them:

  1. EnPlus A1:

    • EnPlus is a European certification developed by the European Pellet Council (EPC).
    • EnPlus A1 is the highest quality category within the EnPlus certification system.
    • It ensures that wood pellets meet stringent requirements for calorific value, moisture content, ash content, and mechanical durability.
  2. DINplus:

    • DINplus is a German certification standard developed by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN).
    • It also sets high standards for wood pellets in terms of calorific value, moisture content, ash content, and other parameters.
    • While DINplus is internationally recognized, it is primarily more widespread in Germany and other European countries.

Both certifications are recognized and ensure high quality and reliability for wood pellets, but they are administered by different organizations and may have slightly different specifications and requirements.
